Given the seeming aversion to debate issues and, instead, to focus on personalities, I wonder what the governing environment will be in the White House if this kind of attitude continues. I can imagine the following scenario in the Oval Office if Ms. Palin is elected to be our next Vice-President:
Palin (bursting into the room): "John, I am furious that he compared me to a pig!"
McCain (awaking from a nap): "What are you talking about?"
Palin: "He called me a pig!" (Her voice rising to a shrill.) "He had the audacity to call me a pig!! Look at the tape from the latest Al-Jazeera broadcast. Bin Laden called me a "babe" and then made some comment about that pig movie from a few years ago."
McCain: "How dare he. I'll check into this right away. I may need to call up the National Guard."
Palin: "That is the least we should do for this kind of attack on American womanhood."
McCain: "By the way, you look especially good today."
Palin: "Why, thank you. I am wearing a new shade of lipstick. Thank you for noticing."
